During a guided tour of the airport’s premises, you’ve got the unique opportunity to get an in-depth look behind the scenes of international air travel. You’ll also find out more about aviation technology and the fascinating history of Linz Airport.
All participants can experience the fascination with flying from various perspectives:
- general and historical information on Linz Airport
- a look at the airport’s apron (manoeuvring area)
- a visit at check-in and security controls
- a tour of the airport fire brigade
- a visit to the hangar

Spotter holes
Planespotting at Linz Airport
A special service for all aircraft enthusiasts are the so-called “spotter holes” at Linz Airport, which give people an unobstructed view of the planes starting and landing at the airport. Several of these “photo-friendly” points were created on behalf of the visitors requesting ideal spotter locations. Now, they let aircraft fans capture their favourite planes on camera – from various angles and without any fencing getting in the way of that perfect shot.
Observation deck
... with children´s play area
A view unlike any other and yet another fascinating insight into the world of aviation can be enjoyed from the airport’s observation deck. Meanwhile, little passengers can have some fun in the children’s play area.
Are you setting your sights high as well? During the summer months, the observation deck is open daily from 6:00am to 11:00pm, free of charge. For safety reasons, it may be closed during the winter months.
